tunic under camo

Post by Oberleutnant Ulrich »

How many of you lads wear your Fliegerbluse under your smock? I know it's also weather pending, but in general is it mainly thought as "you gotta do it" or mostly "you barely notice it, why bother, my service shirt is fine and if chilly then a sweater/jumper is better" ??

I do mainly Tropicals, but even when it's relatively hot, I still wear my shirt and tunic under the jumpsmock. I feel comfortable with it and the cotton material does not add up to the heat. Many from my group just wear the shirt on it's own.

Gerry Kaeppner ditched his fleiger in France. said it got in his way. so with that in mind i say its optional. I suspect that someone will find the rule book and say 'this is the correct way', but in the heat of battle anything goes.

Hmm...I guess so, especially when they roll up the sleeves.

I only have a trop uniform at the moment, but I generaly wear the lot under my smock, however I have seen pictures and read references to guys in esspecialy the med, simply wearing there smock with or without there shirt, even on drops, not tried it yet as the english weather isnt quite at that level but if it gets hot enough one event I may see what its like.

upside of trops, no flieger, just the trop equivalent, however even that can get warm, but as of yet I aint faught any battles in which I have been to hot, its usualy cold and raining at Fort Paull, with added north sea wind.

Bah cold and rain? soooooo?

Yeah most tropical uniform was just the shirt, as it was far to hot to wear a tunic in the desert.

you're in luck.

an international re-enactment event is currently being planned for a September Weekend (19-22). I shall be sharing the details very soon :)

What's your impression Johan? and which part of the kit is a problem?
