Post by Jager Roll »

Barry has done a second run of the Fliegerbluse. Has anyone purchased one from the new run yet?

The new style looks like what RAU sells/sold. But, i've just looked on RAU website and the flieger he shows looks like Barry Lyndon's first run! :?

It will be interesting to get a report off someone who purchases the BL second run flieger.

Regards,

Gary.

The button holes are the wrong type.
They should be the keyhole with bar tack type.

Stick with RAU for wool uniforms, I reckon.

The only problem is that this dealer is the only one that sells the first model Fliegerbluse, if you want to do a may 1940 impression. Or maybee GMAX, but then you better sit down when you look at the pricetag...

Not that Spearhead militaria's M35 is correct though... :(

For an early war impression, you can't beat a Tuchrock under your smock.

Ant-Z is your man for an excellent quality Tuchrock.

tuchrock would still be incorrect for early war to wear under the smock. You would be wearing a waffenrock as thats what took over the tuckrock in 1938 i beleve. That and the M35 flieger.

I have a ant z tuchrock, every part of the tuchrock has a flaw, but it is well made and constructed and i like it. Ant-z will also make a M35 flieger if you ask him.

Not quite true, as the Tuchrock was produced for a limited time after the introduction of the Waffenrock. The main difference is that the Waffenrock can be closed at the neck.

Pockets were intoduced by order on the flieger on 6th of May 1940(LV40,no. 579, if you want to be anal about it!!! :D )

and thats why the tuchrock was replaced in 1938 with the waffenrock due to the collar being able to be done up , it was immediately replaced for the EM. Events in 1940 the waffenrock saw limited use, mostly with the NCO's , most EM wore the M35 flieger due to its lighter construction and a more casual and less constricted feel .

but as no one makes the waffenrock, the tuchrock is acceptable :)
