Thats amazing!

I know that in the "old" fjr6 (Andy Clark) you couldnt wear a jump badge until you had done a jump, I think they used to jump in the uk as free polish para's with denison smocks over the fleigerbluse (eagle has landed stylee) and they would wear german kit at texel in holland....

But has anyone jumped with full kit or an origional chute here?
I know a couple of collectors who have origional chutes (daveydachs has one) but are they good enough to jump with?

Also are those inspection tags showing when it was inspected, or packed last?

You buy them to push, if they run its a bonus......

I do not require a jump for the badge because it is the distinctive Identifying item on the uniform. I award the Kreta sleve ribbon to those who have made at least one jump - no one else wears it.
I do not require my unit (FJR1) members to jump, but do conduct jump training and a jump about once a year. Most of my guys wear the Kreta sleve ribbon. We jump with most equipment - including a pistol, but no canteen.

Cute video.
Notice he has a U.S. Army Airborne School-developed reserve chute on the front of his harness. Jump atlitude was at least 1000 feet, not the <400 feet for the FJs.
No control over the canopy was possible during descent. No ability to control the landing attitude. No ability to jump with weapons or equipment attached to the trooper.
The romantic image of the WWII German FJ is nice to see. But the reality is that the American-developed T-series had become, by 1941 and remains to the present day, the gold standard of individual aerial delivery systems.
P.S. Yes, I've got static line jumping wings from several different NATO countries.

i take a T-series / M1C over a RZ anyday , but given the opportunity to jump with a RZ chute system, i would jump ( clever eh :) ) at the chance to do so.

Our rule is simply no jump, (solo - with evidence provided), no badge.

I think it a small price to pay as a tribute.

We did it as a group and it was an excellent team building exercise! They wouldn't let us jump in our gear however (H & S crap) but we did train in it!
