Found these two pics recently, what is the box?

Wooden drop canister maybe on a makeshift trolley (old pushchair?).

The heavy weapons containers came with their own wheels and tow bars, this container looks wider than normal looking at the second pic. Looks like some sort of wooden trunk?

There is reference to these Photo's in Dying for St Lo.

The caption reads,
The cart (pram/) supports a large wooden locker, whose large 'lc' paper tag indicates it belongs to the Intelligence section of a Fj unit's HQ.
The officer with the peaked cap would then be the intelligence officer of either the 3. or 5.Fjd HQ, Hauptmann von Both in the first case, or Hauptmann Georg Passberg for the latter. All the same, Goliath could de this officers code name.

By the look of it, its a wooden travelling trunk full of lot's of pretty things :D

I Hope this helps

Hi Milsche, I was begining to suspect it was something like this. Thanks for the info!!! wonder if it was an issue item, I know that field desks that fold out from trunks existed.

Thanks again.

It's a great set of photos, if you turned up at a show pushing that around on an old pram most people would laugh at you. But it goes to show, necessity is the mother of invention

Dying for St.Lo has some very good photos.
Hanging up my Knochensack for now, it's been a good war!
