Well time to go Had enough of this prick who is running the forum and his attitude to wards my friends !
Les and Neil looks like I am joining you . Sadly defending friends who were upset about the Yorkshire topic is not seen to be none .

Hi Joel , I don't know the reasons behind your decision to leave this forum or what the trouble is with you and Alex & Co. but you will be a huge loss to this forum . You have always been fair and level headed and I have to say it is a sad day for this forum . I wish you well in whatever road you travel down and please keep in touch with me .

I only stopped him being a global mod on here because he was thinking he was a bit bigger than this forum.

and am I a big shot? no.

Also, he is very chummy with a certain Dark Whisperer from Barnsley, which is enough for a ban actually.

the door is always open, just don't chuck graffiti at it, it shuts jolly quick.

Hey,

There always will be folk who will never see eye to eye, espec as people get older. I joined this forum in 2007, all the old folks who were here then are going the same way regarding this forum. This forum has had thousands of people join its ranks since the good old days, the time of the dinosaurs Pea-deotops, Stigo-raptor, Reppotorus and L'Hearnipus.

If I use code, I might not get chucked off

Seriously, coming from a younger observer of the goings on its not good, maybe I'm young and naive but maybe I also speak some truth.

Forumsin themselves are a dated principle, Facebook has taken a lot of the social side away and made it better. There will always be a place for them mind but they need good leadership and new ideas

am very open to new ideas.

this forum took a big hit about a year and half ago, everyone went on FB instead. now, people are realising that FB is a great place to announce bowel movements but a very awkward place to discuss ideas and experiences. We have lots of new users and much more traffic (yes I use google analytics, not interested in what people do, only how they find us).

We have successfully rid this forum of the 'big shots' and now can focus on it's key objective: to make a repository of information so that any re-enactor can either search here for answers or ask an expert.

that's what a good forum is, isn't it? Shouldn't be a place where 'big shots' (nearly replaced that "o" with an "i"). Its a place where we can all ask stuff and trade knowledge.

I remember when I started re-enacting; I was told to do this and do that, to buy from here and not there. Looking back I laugh at myself for actually playing along. This forum allows newbies to be empowered, and for casual users to get the information they need.

The internet is a democratic leveller. it empowers people, and it disenfranchises the shouty control freaks.

So ... lets continue to build a great store of knowledge. I do not expect to make millions. I do not expect friends. I expect a good forum.

Unfortunately people tend to take things too personal on here,
Luckilly i have a thick skin, i have had to after certain people have
had personal digs at me over the years, but have never held a grudge
and people are welcome to have a pint with me or say hello at
the many events i attend (ask Stig lol), seriously though people should
learn to get along a bit more imho, life short enough as it is.

If i took everything personal i would've left this forum years ago, nobody is
driving me out, that will please my fan club lol

basically learn to get on
people.
