Best place in the UK to get a SS Panzer wrap?

Post by ironcross13 »

Hi guys,
I want something to wear at events in the UK i want a nice SS Panzer wrap.

I was thinking of buying from Epic militaria http://www.epicmilitaria.com/german-ss- ... -wrap.html
But i've seen some from Richard Underwood that look good http://www.richardaunderwood.com/black- ... waffen-ss/
also seen Janke Tunics from Extra class but are not cheap atall http://www.extraklasse.co.uk/viewphoto. ... 500&phqu=3

i want a nice Wrap to wear my self, are Epic and richards Tunics the same quality?

just a little confused what one to get.

Best Martin

Usually what you pay for is what you get,
the more expensive the better the quality,
as far as I know Epic and Militaria Net
sell the "Sturm" type tunic which are
average quality and made in Germany,
Underwood also sells the Sturm tunics
but sometimes has the better quality
ones, it is bests to check first what you
are buying, personally I check pics of
tunics in ref books and compare which
ones look the closest in style and quality.
Good luck

Hi thanks for the reply.
Yeah the Janke ones are expensive but i've been told quality is not much difference that the cheaper ones.
so would you say richards and Epics are the same quality?
I do collect Germany Items, i own quite a few SS uniforms and items. i'm a member of WAF and WRF.
I do own quite a lot of books on the subject also.

so are they the best choices in the UK then
Richards do seem to cost more than epics

Cheers

Tbf RAU sells some decent stuff but his average
gear which he sells as well is overpriced imho.
Epic and Militaria Net I use for tunics, SS camo
I go to SOF because they stock the US SMW gear,
As for insignia I go to Morigi who stocks the higher
Quality swag, but each to their own.
There are US dealers who sell the top quality bespoke
Tunics but on top of the high price you also have to pay
US tax and postage so works out expensive, no GB dealer
Sells the bespoke items that I know of

Yeah he has some nice original material camo covers that are nice.
so SOF stocks SMW gear thats good to know.
who is Morigi? who are the top quality US Sellers you speak of?
so are extra class tunics not worth the massive price? he wanted £320 for a tunic and £125+ shipping to Germany and back for one of his items.
I know about original items just lost when it comes to repos and where to buy from

"What price glory" and "At the Front" are the two US dealers that make the
bespoke tunics i mentioned earlier, they are not cheap, they are between $500
and $800 as far as i know, the guy that does the quality insignia and badges
is "Nicholas Morigi" probably the best in the UK.

As for Janke i cant really comment on their tunics as i have only seen an
Officer type up close and it was quality so you get what you pay for there
but going by pics of the normal O/R type tunic they look standard to me,
although their caps are superb as i did own one once before selling it on
and they look like the original version, so basically it is swings and round
abouts with "Janke" stuff, personally speaking i would say the O/R gear
they sell is overpriced imho
Good hunting

Thanks you been really helpful, Yeah the Janke ones do seem a bit overpriced would Work out about £1000 for a full wrap with postage and fitted, I seen a cap at the war and peace show and they are good.
I think my best option for the wrap is Epic as they are cheap, R Underwood wraps look the same just more expensive.
I will get my insinga from "Nicholas Morigi"
I do want some Camo so will get that from SOF the SMW stuff as looks really good.

I did also think about joining SBG as i seen them at some shows.
I emailed the website they said they would send out a info pack but i never got one or heard back.
I will reemail them
