Advice on FG Phrases

Post by johankreig »

My german is currently rather limited, good with the whole pronunciation but the words are coming up short, can any one give me a rough idea of the kinds of phrases that would be used at check points/ spot checks etcc.... by FG units, just to give me an added extra when I am walking round events and talking to public.

I.e. Things like halt, police, identification etc...

Thanks

I'd say you could get by with three or four useful ones:

HALT! - halt.

Papiere bitte (or Ausweis bitte) - papers (or ID card) please.

Sie sind verhaftet - you are under arrest.

Weitermachen - carry on.

Not much point in learning 30 phrases if all you get back is a blank stare

papiere bitte (or Ausweis bitte) - papers (or ID card) please.
only said to an officer as a request,
NEVER, never to em or nco
paperwork is requested from an officer,
demanded from em/nco, not sure of spelling, papieren, (papers!!!) with hand outstretched to take the said papers.
this has come from i friend of mine who's grandfather was a FD

No problem Gary. Glad you like them - The idea is that you can demand / boss the grenadiers et al around as well as throw in the odd insult.
I remember working with you guys at Levisham a few years back - I was the rather convincing casualty dragged from the field !
Regards,
Roy

For night watch/patrols: "parole!" (password) for identifying someone in the dark as someone from your group and making it a bit more safer for the FG to come closer. after that comes the usual "papiere!"

We usually use this on our camps, as to identify a German or an intruder. The parole is discussed by the officers and consist out of 2 words which make a hard to guess password like apfel katze (apple cat). the questioned unknown person must answer this to the "parole" or else...
