Request - Torn Fud2 Radio Case Dimensions

Post by Stefan1944 »

Kameraden

I'm building a replica Torn Fud2 radio and already have a resin faceplate, kindly provided by DAS MEDIC.

However, I'm really struggling to identify the actual external dimensions of a Torn Fu d2 radio case (length / width / depth).

I've searched this forum and t'internet without any luck and the ones I've found appear to be totally wrong.

Measuring the resin face plate the width will be 295-300mm approx - its the length and depth that I'm really struggling with.

Therefore, I would very much appreciate if someone could advise please. :?:

Vielen dank...

Stefan

I would strongly recommend the Communications section on Wehrmacht-Awards.com the guys on there are incredibly helpful.

A friend of mine rebuilds such cases... Not cheap wooden reproductions but full metal ones which you can hardly distinguish from an original...

He's just about to repriduce also the d2 Antenna... But not yet fully done

The d2 case I shared the pics, was just recently built based on an order by a fellow who's collecting radio gear - such a box (without the radio, without the front lid) costs 900€

It's not so much the material, but the time shaping it in all detail...

My colleague can do all kind of boxes... next project in row is the accessory box for the d2 - even more complicated... and the gear to use the antenna "remotely"

In case you're interested - let me know... but I also understand if not due to the heavy price...
