Unfortunately I bought a gallon of RAL 6003 Olivgrün. Did not know what I was thinking, I'll go back to the store and see if they can tweak it a little so that it can be closer to RAL 6006.

I know... when I was looking through their color selector, RAL 6003 just caught my eye. It looked similar to the original paint on one of my spools, but when it dried it looked too light. I took it back and they were able to bring it close to RAL 6006 feldgrau! Lesson learned.

Thought I'd share this information with you. I just got mine in the mail today and it has the manufactures stamp with 1939 beneath it. Defiantly not late war.

I will post pics when I get the rust stripped off. No your package has not arrived yet, but it shouldn't take much longer.

I got the package! Thank you, this is going to help me a lot. I got another project out of nowhere, I bought a Swiss military bicycle. Now I have a week to put new tires on it and repaint it, so I can take it to one of the largest events here in the US, in Conneaut Ohio.

Question-
What is a fair price to pay on the NVA version of the wire reel backpack, and where can I find one?

I have never seen any for sale here in the US. I found mine through looking at pictures on Google Images. I stumbled upon someones ad that was in Austria.

I've never paid more than GB£50 for any of mine. They come up on ebay.de occasionally, but be aware of the shipping costs if they have wire on the spool!

The fixed 'backback' version, 30euro: http://www.militaria4you.nl/paginas/art ... php?id=326
The foldable one, 20euro: http://www.militaria4you.nl/paginas/art ... php?id=327

The come without the wire-spool. You need to contact the seller yourself for shipping costs.
