Hallo from Germany return to forum :)

Post by Speck »

Hello

I look here for a long time and now decide to join. I reenact German Panzergrenadier, used to do early war but now just late war.

I look forward to attending events like Victory and such.

I know a guy here, his name is Arthur or goes with the name of "Oberleutnant Ulrich" so I hope to see some of you at the Scharfschützenschule or during a mountain event for Gebirgsjäger. But first I need new uniform.

29.05.13

I was away for a long time and forget this forum, but then I get an email that subscribed topic has been replied to. Happy to be back.

I must update my interests, I concentrate on work and family now so my reenacment is guy garage reenacment with 2 friends on restoring my SD KFZ 250. If anyone has spare parts please send me a message as even parts I have wear out.

Greetings

Friedrich

Hallo Speck, one question. Is it true that in Germany is it prohibited to reenact ww2 german soldiers?

Hallo Johann

No it is not illegal, just the symbols are illegal but we find ways to still have them. You can often do it on private property or in some events where police are informed.

But it is not very accepted.

how do you get around the symbology then, do you simply not have it on your kit, or is there an alternative.

A lot of people cover it up with thread. Other people buy badges from Zib with alternative symbol. Others buy true badges and remove the symbol.

In private where no public is we show it but are very careful that no one sees. It is easy to buy.

Sometimes other people see it but we can explain and calm them. So long as it remains Wehrmacht. XX is not tolerated. But no one I know has interest in XX.

HA! You spend more time drinking beer than anything when working in the "guy garage", hope to see the box running sometime soon though ;)

So I'm never going to get you up the mountains then?

Hallo Speck willkommen an Bord :D

You are correct, it is not without problems to reenact in Germany, certain symbols covered up etc.

I reenacted ten years in Germany, mostly Waffen-SS groups, yes, there are a few Waffen-SS groups in Germany
including at least two associations (Vereine), but as Speck says, it is easier to reenact Wehrmacht in Germany.

I have now moved on to "Heimatfront" und Reichsbahn. Best wishes, Bill.
