I'm struggling to find any period/ repro pitons so I'm thinking of asking a local blacksmith to make some but don't know where to look for exact sizes / shapes . Any ideas ?

The longer you spend in a combat environment , the more stressed your equipment ( and you ) become ? Any time out of the line , and replacement items would be issued ? Wehrmacht at the moment though I'm interested in all aspects of German WW2 military - currently putting together a Gebirgsjaeger impression , will be looking to extend it to SS , Prinz Eugen or Nord .

While I think about it , I'm also looking for a 7.92 live fire K98 , I have the necessary F.A.C etc .

Looking for a pair of Gebirgsjaeger Wickelgamaschen , can only find approximates or bad copies .
