Re: Load out questions
Not an expression used when I was in the army, possibly the American military, defiantly an air softerism.

They are Zib ones same as his Heer camo smocks. Better than the rubbish sturm ones but still not originals.

Any word on his new Plane tree print?
All his Heer stuff is great, especially his Sumph print.

Yes if seen those before, there is a bit of debate about this on the WAF.

Re: splinter smocks
Exactly, I've never seen an original in HBT even the very rare 1st pattern sumph smocks were in smooth cotton. Still that sort of thing won't bother many people. Groups with an unrealistic mix of camouflage - 1st pattern sumph smocks, splinter smocks, splinter A tailored items trying to portray a la...

Re: splinter smocks
http://www.richardaunderwood.com/news.php - I'm sure they are the same one's as Zib. No coincidence as well that Zib and Richard started selling the only HBT sumph repro at about the same time. Take a look at stoneliegh.

Re: splinter smocks
They may well be from China, I'm sure I've seen a far east ebay store with them recently. They are also the one's Richard Underwood currently stocks along with the HBT sumph tarn smocks.

Re: Another wanker having his say
Well he's certainly pointing out it's a controversial subject. But there are more derogatory newspaper articles regarding the subject. And his last point still stands even for Waffen SS re-enactors; maybe he's just having a dig at SS units that don't do it properly.

Re: Another wanker having his say
Indeed and in his final statement he makes the point it's fine to re-enact German units, as long as it's done well and without the political element.

Re: Another wanker having his say
However, if the politics are kept out of it (as is the case with the vast majority of WWII German units) and it is done well, with sound research and the ability to explain to the public, then surely there's a case for accurately recreating battles that actually happened. Nothing wrong with his clo...

Re: Help with Camo
Good advice from Olly, Panzer Wittman, grenmartens, and valid point form dixiedrummer = although i think it is maybe over done for the Division as a whole - while most folks reenact the parts of the division that had the highest issue of cammo - rather than various supporting units that recieved les...

Re: Help with Camo
I provided a link to over 600 photos from the one photographer alone. All SS units in the 41-43 period wore a palm, but plane tree was dominant. Try looking through the thousands of period photos in the archive, better than any Google search or book. http://www.kriegsberichter-archive.com/ In 44 the...

Re: Help with Camo
There are great resources at our disposal without buying books in some cases - 628 photos of TK 41-43 - http://www.kriegsberichter-archive.com/index.php?/category/45 Majority of plane tree with some palm in there as well. Clearly nothing wrong with mixing camo patterns but not a must, I still firmly...
