Re: HBT summer tunics
You're right enough Stiggie ye old humper of amps, it would be fair to assume that some army tunics found their way onto SS bodies though?
You may have a point about it being tropical though, but were the tropical ones not all open neck?
The picture seems to show an opening for a fifth button.

Re: German shoulderbord designs
They were used from the Great War up to the War of 39-45.
Early on, they were used by German troops, later they did get used by Foreigners.

A fantasy lover wearing all his bling.......in 1945.
I would class this as a 42 rather than a 43, 5 button, no pleats, pointed pocket flaps.- Tue Dec 06, 2011 1:37 pm

Waffen SS Divisonal insignia
Ever wondered why some divisional emblems have different corners cut off the shield insignia? I did, then I forgot about it and recently I found an explanation. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. If the shield has a cut out top right it is for Panzer units Cut top left is for Panzergrenadier Cu...

Re: source for cardboard buttons for winter reversible parka
I see your point, but putting on other buttons is still a post war addition and that does affect the condition to collectors, it would detract from it.

Re: source for cardboard buttons for winter reversible parka
Are you not considering leaving it as it is? Even if you get correct period buttons and thread, they will still be classed as post war additions which you obviously know affects items in their value both monetary and historically. If you intend to wear it, and I hope you do/can, can you not just do ...

Re: lost deac cert help
A de-act certificate is a worthless piece of paper. The polis don't even recognise them.
In Britain you can safely carry deactivated guns anywhere you want.
(Within reason obviously, not running about like a wigger, but showing them at WW2 events)

Re: who makes the best Field Grey Uniforms??
Didn't Dachau have a big part in making uniforms? I would think the workers there would have made the best for fear of being chastised in some way. Yes I may be being slightly flippant but the whole dwindling of sense regarding this is tiring. SOME GERMAN UNIFORMS WERE MADE GOOD SOME WERE MADE SHIT...
