Re: k98 bayonet query

I have got a repro one, it came from SOF, it is really shit.
I got an original one last year for £5.00(no scabbard) but still...
I am assuming most repro bayonets are from the orient.

Assume the worst until you find out different.

Re: Any input will be appreciated.

Re: aged gear.

Back to the first point, yes, equipment was new at some point, but it was being used every day, not just at certain weekends in the summer. I think that most re-enactors/living historians will try to strive for the worn look as it makes more sense if you're trying to portray a soldier that has been ...

I think it's a late 20th century fake staged photo.

Estimate for Swiss splinter camo

Can anyone give me an idea of an average price for a Swiss splinter helmet cover?

Re: Sweaters with round neck

Do you know how expensive knitting wool is? My other half is a knitting fanatic. So you have to get someone to knit a jumper and buy the wool for less then a score? Good luck I say. Charity shops usually have baskets full of the stuff, plus there's blankets and other odd assorted things to pick off...

Re: parka in the Tan and Water Sumpftarn camouflage

You were lucky I was getting rid of the Bren team on my right hand side before I turned on you!

Anyway, Sumpftarn is not generally associated with SS,no matter what front they were fighting.

Re: parka in the Tan and Water Sumpftarn camouflage

On a side note, parkas are remarkably comfy pillows when stuffed inside a plain white laundry bag and you're trying to get a few minutes sleep in the front seat of a Land Rover going home after a cold wet morning of British airborne troops attacking you left right and centre. I place the blame squar...

Re: Sweaters with round neck

Is there no mothers or grannies left in the world? Time was not so long ago they could all knit, shop bought woollies were a posh thing, real people wore hand knitted jumpers, scarves, gloves, hats and socks. And yes that did include the German armed forces, along with nearly every other army in the...

I was going to point you in the direction of nazi.org.uk, but I see it has much the same songs you already have.
Lots of other good tunes to be had there though.

Party badge

Just got a badge, same size and shape as a Gold NSDAP one. It is a modern copy, thing is the swastika is gold in colour, no wording round the edge. Is it a fantasy piece?
