Heh heh i remember the daft lad....You gave him a wound badge...I`d have put him on a charge! I read once the caption from a photo of MP40 armed M/C troops that the issue Bayonet was always worn...can only go on what I see(photo`s) and read(someones opion or was there and saw it/did it).... smocks etc

Umm, good point.....The fact is only frontline troops should have been issued smocks etc... I too have read where clothing was issued out and even collected back in aftera cold night! But the number of late war photos of troops wearing such clothing and the issue lists make it more possible to have ...

Erm,
Just for info purposes..Bayonets were issued to ALL weapon carrying troops....why do you think there are so many about! I dont like carrying one...but will do!

May i ask why no smocks? late 1944...Heer troops would have them! It`s only a question! :) so dont go barmy...please
