Re: Bringing weapons to Germany for reenactment

Wow, thanks for all the great info and the link!! I'm sure it will be a big pain, but for us to move there, one of my biggest fears is having to get rid of/ leave behind all my old toys! I wonder how hard it is to get a collector's permit? And if you have that permit, can you fire them at all?? How ...

Bringing weapons to Germany for reenactment

Hello all! I am a reenactor in Texas, USA, and my wife and I are looking at moving to Germany (where she is from) in the next year. I am wondering how, or if, I can bring my WWII era weapons with me. I have NO modern firearms, and don't even want to have live ammunition with me, but I do wish to bri...

M37 Straightleg pants or Berghose WANTED

Hey all, I am looking for a nice set of stone or field gray pants with a size 34-36 waist, of the M37 or Berghose variety. If I had my druthers, I'd prefer Berghose from Lost Battalions or Janke, but I'm open. I don't at all mind used, as long as I can get a good deal on them. They are to be field p...

Re: Soldbuch and Sütterlin

Bmac, I continue to bow to your greatness in this regard!! Your books always look so DAMNED good! I am attempting to 'sponge' tips and techniques out of them every time I see one of them! Suetterlin I can do. Latin I can do. Its the nice mix that you've mastered, and which I continue to attempt to m...

Re: post sutterlin script?

Here, take a look at this book. Notice how the original name and rank were written in a mixture of latin and suetterlin script, while the promotion is pure suetterlin. This was very common, because for these guys who were learning suetterlin as kids, they were unable to 'turn it off' just because th...

Re: post sutterlin script?

Sure looks good, youve been a great help and I might try it again... the main thing is my writing is awful, I had Italic writing drummed into me at school and since then its turned into a spider like mess! Barry, I am a "soldbucher" that does the books for Cyrus Lee at soldat.com, and let...

Re: Soldbuch Completion Service

Yeah, they have the sign of the Bremerhaven Instrument Company, or BIC, stamped on them. No, in reality, there is probably not a great deal of difference between the German Pelikans vs the Mont Blanc, etc (and of course tons of Mont Blancs were used by the Wehrmacht). The real difference is b...

Re: Post Your Impression

I'll get some photos up soon, but I have a Wehrmacht Protestant Chaplain impression. Although the soldbuch lists several units throughout my 'service', I'll claim the 54 Inf. 100th Jaeger Div as my main one.
