Re: Insignia on Dot-44 camo

Thanks, guys. Think I'll skip the wool tunic for now and go straight for the greatcoat - we do 24h events, and standing guard duty in sub-zero night-times is not something I look forward to without adequate insulation. Which leads, again, to my next question: when wearing a greatcoat, is the suspend...

Re: Insignia on Dot-44 camo

That actually touches on my next question: what to wear over the Dot44 tunic in cold weather. I made the mistake of ordering a 42'' chest instead of a 38'', so I'm wearing a green-grey service shirt underneath to bulk it out a bit (they didn't put collar tabs on those, did they?). Insignia on Dot-44 camo

Very new to the re-enactment scene, still trying to put my first outfit together (thank you varusteleka.fi for eating my bank account!), and I'd appreciate some advice/pointers from the vets: 1) Was Dot-44 worn exclusively by the SS, or did the Heer also use it? 2) For an SS impression, which insign...

Any events in South Africa?

Hi guys

New to the forum, and I'm looking to get in touch with the local South African re-enactors. Does anyone know how big the scene is over here? I'm coming specifically from their airsoft side, trying to combine the two disciplines for some proper skirmishes.
