Re: GJ boots 43 size 28cm lenth

Herr Feldposten!

You might have a good amount of business coming your way, sir. Have a lot of US Gebirgsjäger reenactors who would like to get boots made from you. I am looking to order some by early next year, will production be in full swing by then?

Cheers,
Aaron

Re: WE SHOULD ALL KNOW THIS...

Even with out a course, you can can learn almost anything you need to know on the internet, and should take some time practicing first aid. Also make sure to carry a real medical kit and plenty of expendables in it. Nothing major, but I completely wrecked my thumb in the heat of a tactical whilst fi...

Re: Who hates sewing uniform insignia?

I rather enjoy it. Put on a Django Reinhardt record, pour a cup of whiskey, and relax. It's rather theraputic in some ways

And I agree, you get a real sense of appreciation for your uniform.

Great impressions! Where are the smocks from, they look great - especially the palm camo!

Re: Gj DAK questions.

I wear the standard Afrika Korps uniform and equipment including web belt and y-straps, but I still wear the specialty GJ items such as bergschuhe, wickelgamaschen, edelweiss.. I've seen some great impressions with tropical leg-pocket Fallschirm trousers and a faded tropical tunic.. mix and matched ...

Yeah they never seem to hit the colors right, I have an original of both - if only they made 'em like this:

Another good supplier of windjacke/windbluse. A bit pricey, but as with most of their items, some top quality reproductions. Top Pots - Windjacke http://www.toppots.net/main.php?do=clientproduct&action=home&id=103&cid=317&type= Top Pots - Anorak http://www.toppots.net/main.php?do=cli...

Re: Gebirschjager boots !!!

The craftsmen ship and quality look top notch to me. They look like the kind of boots that you could have for many years, even a lifetime if taken care of.

I don't know if anyone has purchased these, but I might pull the trigger and order a pair and do a proper review.

Re: question on gebirgs. and y straps

Out of the few hundred photos I have archived, I'd say about 4 at most had them wearing Y-Straps, one of which being improvised straps out of a breadbag strap. All the others where Ost Front.

I persuade guys in my unit to not wear them for most all events.

Re: WTT for your used WWII items (trader)

I know you guys are not to keen on first posters, but I will go ahead and step up and say that Luke at Man The Line is a good friend, and a well trusted buyer/seller of WWII militaria. My self, many friends, and unit members have done business with Luke without a hitch, and are pleased every time. C...
