And it is not just WW2 who use the term, we used it over 10 years ago in American Civil War re-enacting!! It goes back further than 10 years ago with ACW reenacting. Now I have to buy a Finnish uniform. Too cool that some one is making repros. I always felt the other Axis Powers never got nearly enough attention, Italy, Finland, Bulgaria and Hungary in example. Still waiting for my new Suomi M31.

My unit does the 17th SS. I have been unable to locate much in the way of records for the unit IE weapons used, uniforms issued and camo worn. Any one have any of that kind of documentation that I can devour?

Two bottles is permissible and remember to soak the felt cover before you go out - it evaporates and keeps the contents of your flask cold (cooler at least) Also hide in your gasmask tin some rehydrating fluid or salts etc. Never get caught out where thirst and heatstroke are involved. My advice, 1. Get another German canteen and hang it on a y strap belt loop on your hip closer to the front of your belt. 2. Get used to reaching around and grabbing your canteen - you are a Deutsche Soldat... make do!. Plus whenever you are fighting, your battle buddy should be there. he can help ...
