Re: Rucksackbeutel für den Gebirgsrucksack 31
Hmmm? My question as well, why four grommets, and not eight? Your edited post answers that one! :-) I found this fabric over at Amazon.com that might put me in a good direction: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61X5-27J%2BWL._SL500_AA300_.jpg http://www.amazon.com/European-Handkerchief-Linen-Ol...

Re: Rucksackbeutel für den Gebirgsrucksack 31
Resurrecting an older thread. I own one (1) unissued condition schuhbeutel, and it is made of a rather thin cotton (almost linen-like) fabric. I wonder, how common is this particular fabric to either the schuh- or waeschbeutel? I am also hoping for help in sourcing some "quality" repros. I...

The pictures turned out great. You say 35mm film, but what camera are you using?

Re: Pippingford Park Tactical 2012 ....21st/22nd APRIL
I did not say' all their kit is OD 7 Rather, I most definitely see a good number of OD 7 items (shovel covers, gas mask bags, etc.) along with a some highly suspect cartidge belts and spare ammo bags. And no, the only soldier I see possibly in HBTs is the one colsest to the camera. That is why I sai...

Re: Pippingford Park Tactical 2012 ....21st/22nd APRIL
Bitsch was liberated in a series of tough fights between December 1944 and March of 1945 by elements of the 100th Infantry Division. The men in the photo are probably all wearing M1943 Field Jackets and Trousers, even the suspect closest to the camera. You would be hard pressed to find a photo of th...

Re: M44 Late war Tunic
Yes, I would in fact pay for poorly milled wool. Call it being a stitch counter, call it crazy, call it whatever, but I desire to reenact with the closest possible recreations. After all, It is reenacting/living history/etc. and not a fancy dress party. I can not understand "good enough&...

Re: aged gear.
I would add that I can think of no army that sees/saw rummaging, or pilfering, from your own dead as anything but heinus, "unless" you are in need of food or ammunition [the basics to survive in a desperate environment]. I know that people become immune to death, but it is more so directed...

Re: new oak b set from SM Wholesale
I think that everyone is overlooking SMW's own description as "collector quality replicas". They are obviously not foolish and think that "Joe the reenactor" will be calm cool and collected as he tears his $600.00 uniform on a grey-painted, plywood dragons tooth. Yes, the uniform...
