Re: Big GJ meeting in the War and Peace Show: Why not?

Andy, if you meet Gregg, the L shape that you proposed would be OK for us (thinking that to our right side there will be the spaniards of "La Nueve").
We will send our papers, like last year we did.
Thanks for helping.

Re: Big GJ meeting in the War and Peace Show: Why not?

Andy,
die 3.Kompanie will be there, with roughly the same space needed, sleeping in the zelts. What we need is to have our spanish comrades to our side, like last year. (Our groups name is GJR100 and their name is Compañia Historica "La Nueve".
Many thanks

Absolutely everybody that I've spoken said the same: TV-crapp!

I have a few of those and can hopefully get more. They come from the army. I sell them at 6€ a piece, if someone is interested.

Re: Abseilen with hemp rope

Apparently from the photos and films, there wasn't much more.
In a very interesting film about the first ascension to the Elbrus, they get the ropes newly made by a rope-maker in Switzerland. But they use a part of polyester to make it safer. And it breaks!!!

Abseilen with hemp rope

This last weekend we practiced the "Abseilen" with a double 10mm hemp rope. To be honest, every time you think this is the last descend that the old rope will last! http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh155/albertsangenis/P1050003.jpg http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh155/albertsangenis/...

Re: Water Supply in the Mountains

To get water in the winter is not that big problem. When it realy gets complicated is in summer, specialy in the south! Many fountains get dry and the little streams aswell.
