I'm just reading a book called "The Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer. In there he writes that even after travelling across Poland and the Ukraine in the russian mud, straffed by the red air force and attacked by partizans, they were ordered to clean their kit, boots and uniform for a parad...

I put my cleaning kit wherever I want, and I'm sure the soldiers did to NCO's have a habit of weeding out those thoughts during training. Everything has a reason. I was a victim of this, ahh Sure I will put the cleaning kit in here, empty ammo pouch... NCO strolls along open your pouches... Ermm wh...

It looks horribly heavy... with a kick like that its probably inaccurate at long range, probably not effective either at long range... I wouldn't want it lol...

I spent two months in Israel shooting a series with Channel Four. In hot conditions I had to wear a British Tunic etc.. + combat stuff... But not all the time, we were issued with the Tropical stuff to when needed it felt great and worked a treat. It was hell on earth, as the stuff just made you swe...

I had the idea once to ride in Uniform for a A-level project, I was going quite fast when one of my mates stood up in a hedge to take a photo and the horse freaked... "High sided" me at high speed... the helmet came down and gave me two shiners.. and near broke my nose... Dam helmet :lol: ...
