As a medic you can use a MG42 ammo box to carry extra equipment. Just paint a white dot with a red cross on both sides. Or perhaps you can get hold of a tornister Affe backpack. Just attach a red cross patch on or a German rucksack M31.

Here are a pic of my two helmets. Firstly a Heer single decal M35 helmet. Shell size 68. Then my M42 helmet with no decal. Shell size 66. I'm pretty satisfied with the result, the guy who made the paint job is really good! Both in feldgrau since I like that color the most :) http://desmond.imageshac...
