Re: easster show in germany

No, of course not. Or do you compare film work and reenactment?

Re: easster show in germany

@Reich Crispies: Sorry, I didn´ßt want to ignore you. You and Hoffman are right in one point: The German scene is not a homogene one. There are a lot of different ideas and understandings of reenacting. That´s okay, I am sure that this is the same in UK and every other country. That´s why I wouldn´t...

Re: easster show in germany

So now we know that German re-enactors do not have insurance - do not care about insurance and to not pay due care to their health and safety or that of persons around them... For what? In Germany an insurance is common for every adult. And in Germany avery event must have a "Veranstaltungsver...

Re: easster show in germany

Beate, I never worked against Museum displays or school educations... I am sure that the public would have no problems with it, too. But it is something different in public mind if reenactors doing battles or posing around. We have a lot problems here even with Wehrmacht portrayal. That is the whole...

Re: easster show in germany

Oh Bill... An Association is an official body that may be recognized by the authorities and an association can coordinate membership fees etc. My question: Why do we need membership fees? Nobody needs them here. And we have a lot of people in contact with the authorities. We have had no problems wit...

Re: easster show in germany

HI! Why do we need an association here? The groups talking together and we keep the scene on a good way. I won´t discuss the question of SS-Reenactment again. Senseless. You didn´t understand the differences. The German scene always was and is "self-distructing" and would not even be able ...

Re: OSTERN 2011- FALLINGBOSTEL:MILITARY REENACTORS WEEKEND SHOW

Re: Tropical uniforms used elsewhere?

The center man carries a Berthier M16 Carbine. Nice. Maybe 2nd line units or occupation troops.

These German officers surrendered in Bremerhaven in May 1945. Nice mix of troical and continental uniforms.
We still don´t know where these officers came from.

Re: Tropical uniforms used elsewhere?

There are a lot of proofs for tropicals being used in southern Russia, the Balkans and even during the last days of the war by Volkssturm units.

Not the norm, but it happened.

Re: Jump boots!any ideas on suppliers?

Hi Uwe,

thanks for the pics. I will add them to my next order. But I don´t like the look of the soles yet.
Are the boots comparable to the 2nd type boots from Sturm in terms of quality? (My boots lasted 6 month under wear in rough conditions).

Re: German Paratrooper Splinter Bandoliers?

I think it depends on the year. In later pics (Normandy to the end) bandoleers were quite rare. leather ammo pouches seems to be the norm then.

Bye

Re: Web Equipment Straps

The Sturm tropical straps are altered Czechoslovakian Y-straps.
