Re: possible german 3/4 man sub discovered in river foyle
The chances of it being a German miniature submarine are more against than for and it is unlikely that it is an X Craft. I see no reason why it should be an unrecorded Mini sub. taken to Lisahally post war , these craft were not in short supply in post war Europe and the rational in bring one beyond...

Re: possible german 3/4 man sub discovered in river foyle
http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0427/lough-foyle-sonic-sunken-submarine.html A false alarm , a bogus sonar return. (So it seems the nearest sub in Derry is the local "Sub-way" outlet.) :) A lot of speculation in the news when this broke and afterwards, as far as the three U Boats which are in ...

Re: 10 X 50 BINOCULARS (Dienstglas) wanted
Unfortunately eBay is your best bet , some decent ones on there in recent times...the 7x50 d.glas is a set harder to get but 10x50's turn up thee on quite a regular basis one with a case will be expensive, having said that how often do you actually see a photo of anyone with the case ? Go for a Zeis...

Panzer Wrecks
A series of books which I am sure the tank loving fraternity will be aware of and can vouch for. Recently bought 3 from this series which I think now runs up to 12 volumes what you get -Excellent and well captioned photo histories of German Armour after it has been disabled or destroyed. Random phot...

"Zitadelle- The German Offensive Against The Kursk Salient"
Published by History Book Press (2008) by Mark Healey . I was put on to this book by a friend on another forum - a very readable yet detailed account of the German decision to attack the Kursk Salient in the summer of 1943. The author explores the various view and options open to Germany in the Spri...

Re: Scharnhorst Sunk 26th Dec 1943
http://www.panzergrenadier.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=88&t=8335 This previous thread gives an account of Scharnhorst in some detail, an unnecessary and wasteful swansong (for the surface fleet of the Kgm) she fell victim to a well executed ambush. Scharnhorst was always regarded by all who sailed...
