Oak Leaf cover
Me again! So I have a helmet cover that I have started to doubt the quality. The front flap keeps falling into my eyes and I am convinced it has been sewn wrong. I have a 61 size head and the shell is 67 so I don't think it is a wrong sized cover. pics: http://i.imgur.com/BBctg0M.jpg http://i.imgur....

Re: Trusted Traders/Companies
I Haven't had any negative experiences with sof, they even included a beautiful little piece of artwork with my last order free of charge! Their stall at overlord had some of the most polite and friendly retailers I have ever met. A few Hick ups with epic militaria but they were very helpful and qui...

Re: Some help from SBG members
Damned Bolsheviks! I should be able to make the first day of war and peace (see earlier hectic statement) and be able to pick up some of the things I'm missing like the smock etc. But like I said, no way of letting HQ know except email, carrier pigeon, smoke signal or a U boat off the coast. Do the d...

Re: Some help from SBG members
Oh dear, perhaps I should offer some back story. As I am moving back to the UK from overseas things are a tad hectic so I was only able to meet the boys on the first day of Overlord so I chose that moment to get to know them, rather than ask a thousand and one questions about the little details. Add...

Re: Some help from SBG members
awesome, thank you both so much. With regard to m43 camo caps, some units don't allow them to be badged. What about the SBG? Do some guys also mix and match camo patterns ie. palm helmet, oak cap, blurred smock etc? (Sorry if this is getting annoying, but I'd rather ask the questions here than turn ...

Some help from SBG members
Hi all! Just joined up with the SBG and, while I like to think of myself as pretty well in the know about history, I would rather hear it from the horse's mouth. So, any old salty SBG dogs who wander over here, pleeeeease answer? Pretty Please? 1. Camo smocks. Is there one style that is prevalent? S...

Re: Stitch dyeing
redsun , Has your officer explained WHY he's cracking down on white stitching ? I have many original items that have leather work ; for example , 8 M31 Mountain rucksacks - NONE of them show any sign of the stitching on the leather having been artificially dyed - in fact , the white stitching is st...

Stitch dyeing
Hi all, I was recently informed by my officer that he will be cracking down on white stitches on leather (boots, belts, straps etc). What have you used? I was thinking a mix of soil and coffee stains to brown the stitches to give them a worn look about them. Any help would be great

Re: Second Battle Group
Hi guys, just put in my application to join the SBG couple weeks back and got to meet SBG members this weekend at the Overlord show in Denmead. Top notch, really friendly group of guys. Hope to be seeing more of you lot over the next couple years.
