Re: Finnish troops with SS Nord
Interesting pictures Franz, thanks for sharing. The first pic looks 41-42 period, judging from the Russian prisoner's collar tabs.

Re: What is a good Re-enactment Picture?
For me, the best pictures are those which capture something of the period atmosphere. They don't need to feature anything really special, and I think it's something that is hard to do completely on purpose. Sometimes just the correct mannerisms, photography etc. make pictures which really make you f...

Re: Breadbags
i think it is leather they are reinforced with, certainly not canvas anyway. I stand corrected :) All the ones I have seen have had canvas ones. Shows the variety on Finnish equipment. Here's a little comparision between a wartime and postwar, 63 dated breadbag. As far is i know, the later model wa...

Re: Breadbags
A good way to spot post-war items is to look at the leather. Re: Red Orchestra 2
Have to admit I have never tried playing Danzig that tactically, gotta give it a try, thank for the advice :) That map and the one with a large open plaza and buildings around it, forgot the name, have given me aversion to CQC maps, mostly because theyre so overplayed :) Agreed on the combined arms ...

Re: Red Orchestra 2
I actually like the idea of mid-war weaponry  Though i really didn't enjoy many of the urban maps in RO, they were often too crowded and even too deadly in my opinion, with often little change for survival with grenades flying everywhere, though im sure they balance things better for urban com...

Re: Finnish Tikkakoski M44
I don't think Wehrmacht got their hands on any M/44s though, as the weapon didn't actually even make it to the Lappland War, the production was only starting then.
