and you are not alone, there were in fact other German soldiers with Irish sounding names
e.g. the Commander of 902nd Panzer Grenadier Regiment Willi Welsch (29.07.1944)

it's a good mix of pretty much all of the above! I love WW2 history, and living history knocks the socks off a trip to a museum any day, :) it also provides the kind of in-depth education you won't find in any books or movies. 8) The social side of the hobby is first rate, great craic with like mind...
