Grüß Di' Feldman,
Where did you hear or read of this unit? I've been studying, researching and collecting Gebirgsjäger stuff for 30+ years and have never hear of this unit.

Re: 97. Jäger Division and Edelweiss on Bergmütze
Grüß Di' Matthäus, I have the same book...an excellent one by the way. As to your question about the Edelweiss and Jäger Insignia, if you look at the photos a little more carefully, you'll see that not everyone is wearing the Edelweiss on their caps...only a few. These Jägers are more than likely fo...

Re: Another swamp find - I.D needed please!
Grüß Di' I think what you have is the Tungsten squeeze-bore head that was used with the schwere Panzerbüchse 41. The s.Pz.B.41 was an effective weapon when it was approved for service in November of 1940. But after 1941, the weapon lost it's effectiveness against most armor of the time. The bigger i...

Servus Chris, I have seen many original Gebirgsjäger Windblusen with the strap cut off. On one of my originals, the strap is about 16 inches / 41 cm with 4 button holes. http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/6848/olivewindblusefm1.jpg Is the material on this new repro a single layer with white on one s...

Re: 208.Infanterie-Division 'Fall Weiss' photoshoot
Grüß Gott Kameraden,
Excellent work on the early war impression and photographs!!! The only thing that I see that might be lacking is a cross-strap for the Leutnant's belt, but this wasn't worn all the time.
Drei mal Horrido!

Why not just purchase the resin faceplate that is usually sold on ebay? Makes the process a whole lot easier.
