Re: Gebirgsjäger pack mule metal transport box

Papa , Is it possible it carried a mobile field kitchen at some point ? James Brown at RZMilitaria has a complete one for sale on his website , the carry box is very similar . Servus Jäger Stefan, I know the Gebirgs-Kochkiste. I have one and it's a heavy insullated box. The new transport box that I...

Gebirgsjäger pack mule metal transport box

Grüß Di' Mulitreibers, Just received a new Muli item in the mail.  It's a metal Tragekasten.  Does anyone have any period photos of this or know what it carried?  It has a sliding vent on one side. http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af166/Hochgebirgsjaeger/Muli%20Stuff/_MG_0980.jpg http://i1004.pho...

I look forward to it! It's always great to meet Bergkameraden, especially on a true mountain experience and climb.

Re: Folding lanterns

Servus Bergkamerad Matt, Do you have any photos of your US lantern that you can post? Would like to see what it looks like. I use a folding period Swiss lantern for reenactments and have a German 'Alpina' folding lantern in my collection. I'll have to shoot some photos of both. Here's the 'Alpina' i...

Re: question - bag for rope

Servus Stefan,

I've seen the same thing on ebay...pure fantasy. Not anything used during WW1 or WW2 for Gebirgsjägers or even civilian mountaineers.

Re: question - bag for rope

It's a rescue rope for firemen. Way too short for mountaineering.

I always find that a little bit of research and getting some reference books always helps: http://www.wingedhussar.com/shopping/images/osprey/German%20Military%20Police%20Units%201939-45.jpg http://www.ospreypublishing.com/store/German-Military-Police-Units-1939–45_9780850459029/ Horrido! Patrick

Re: Sanitätstaschen Labels needed

Servus Sani-Kameraden, Found this website with good information about the various Sani-Taschen with good images of the labels. Just need to find a good font style to match the labels. The labels were printed on paper and glued to the inside of the lid with rubber cement. http://www.stinch.com/milita...

Sanitätstaschen Labels needed

Grüß Di' Sani-Kameraden, Just picked up a nice set of Sanitätstaschen from At The Front, but they don't come with content labels. Does anyone have repro labels available or a file that they can send me? https://www.atthefront.com/g_images/gear/medic_pouch.jpg I'm working on a Gebirgs-Sani display. h...

A thought of mine was I could have picked up from a an American soldier on the field, but then come the question of where I could get more film to prolong usage o it, or to have the film developed?....... It would be easy enough to get 8mm movie film in Germany during the war from Kodak, Agfa, and ...

Re: Camera question Kameraden?

Grüß Gott LH Kameramann, Congratulations on your 8mm movie camera find! They didn't have camcorders back then. I'm sure that this camera was used by German soldiers along with many other Kodak products since there was a Kodak Germany division of the company. http://www.kodak.com/ek/US/en/Our_...
