Re: What´s in your Breadbag ? Show it up !

I have found that a lot of guys carry anachronistic items in their can just because of its convenience. That ticks me off. I carry a modern first aid kit, simply because I will more than likely need that than a gas mask. Farb? Maybe, but I would rather weigh on the side of caution and having...

Hopp Schwiiz!

I need to get some photos of my Gebirgsfusilier kit up. It has taken me 5 trips to Switzerland and lots of hunting to get it complete.

Re: GJ 'Schneebrille'

My two pairs of originals have elastic bands on them. I would assume that the majority also had elastic straps.

Most re-enactors use 1940's era Swiss googles and they have the tie in the back tapes. This can be fixed for just a few dollars and some minor sewing.

Re: Panther Store

Why make Feld-Division jackets in sumpfmuster? Your work is phenominal, but there is very little evidence to suggest these jackets were issued in any appreciable numbers.

I highly suggest you consider making the early model splinter FD jacket the next time around.

WTB Luftwaffe Gulls

Any one have a source for zinc stamped Luftwaffe rank gulls? All the ones I can find with the usual suspects are the nasty cast aluminum versions.

Re: hessen antique read before you buy

Replicas are all most people will ever own. I agree, but that is no excuse to not do your homework. The Feldbluse book is one of the best references out there and it should be on every German re-enactors bookshelf. There is also the possiblity to attending militaria shows, there are always tunics t...

Re: hessen antique read before you buy

I would hate to think that the Ant-z stuff had become any kind of standard. Some is quite good, some is reasonable but a lot is still junk. I have been in this hobby for 12 years, there has never been a standard as far as I know. Everyone had their own opinion who who produces/produced the closest ...

Re: hessen antique read before you buy

But who really wants to go for the industry standard? Not I. It appears that between the years 1939-1945, the German Wehrmacht settled for "industry standard". Even the dreaded Waffen-SS had to settle for "industry standard". I hate to be the one to break it to you, but the aver...
