Beg to differ kamerad, ive always found that squad leaders in Wehrmacht ranks were usually Unterfeldwebels who handled a squad of 9 men, the rank of Unteroffizier is usually a technical rank or for someone who has been earmarked for Officer training, SS rank equilivent was SS- Unterscharfuhrer for ...

So far I know we have only one Luftwaffen unit in Germany the 4./Fallschirmpionierbataillon 5

Postwar Pionierfibel written by Volkmar Zahn, who has written the earlyer one in WW2. The contents did not change much or use the same material. The right side pouch is made wrong. There is the pocket for the TNT missing. They only copyed the Gasmask part of the Pouch.

I can not proof this rumour, Iam from Germany and never heard of it. In the moment is summer holiday in politics. Sounds like a typical summer rumour.
