The Eastern Front Medal was awarded to personnel who saw service on the German Eastern Front during the period 15 November 1941 to 15 April 1942. (Wikipedia)

However, Nordland was not active until 1943.

Nice impression, Kameraden.

Here's an observation (and I'm sticking my head above the parapet to be shot at by the world!): I don't recall seeing any early war pics with MG belts around the neck. Not sure why - possibly because the squad only had one MG early war, as opposed to two?

It's correct. HBT and tropical uniforms only have the two sets of holes.

For a long time his trousers were cut too low in the waist. Some tunics, M36 style but not all his M36, were produced in a very odd shade of green, almost Police green. Agreed on both those points.
