Re: Gun identification
I was under the impression that SS Mausers had a small sigrunen worked into the top of the metal, above the serial number. Did that happen or did I am I just spouting rumour and hearsay?

Gun identification
Hey fellas, I wondered if anyone was good at tracking down rifle information. Here's what I have on mine: Model K98k, Mauser Year Produced: 1938 Manufacturer: Mauser-Werke AG (stamping of 243) Serial Number: 8316 History: Russian capture. Bolt sawed down for what seems to be a sniper mount. Above th...

Re: Uniform question
Our unit doesn't have strict guidelines as far as uniforms types (long as its worn right and with correct insignia, etc) but seeing as I am a member of a Grossdeutschland unit, I figured there would be either a larger preponderance of M36 wool uniforms rather than later M40-43 tunics as far as wool...

Uniform question
I was wondering about this after deciding which period tunic I should get for my wool uniform and since I couldn't find another source for an answer, I thought I'd ask here. The M36 tunics are all wool, but there is not a HBT tunic for M36, only later like M40-43; is that because the Heer fought thr...

Can you identify?
Hello all. I found this really good picture and I'm wondering if anyone could identify perhaps the unit the young fella was in. Mind you it is WWI and not WWII, so it may be harder than usual.

Re: Need Identification
Is that what they are? Hm. They had looked so much like map cases to me that I assumed they might have been a group of officer trainees.Feldjager wrote:Those are the gas sheet bags. This is an early war picture - all M36 tunics, marching boots and the gas sheet bag in that position are a dead give away.

Re: Need Identification
2nd photo looks like a unit formed up ready to move somewhere - the bags are not officer's bags, but are in fact Bekleidungssack 31 (1931 pattern clothing bags). These were left in the rear with the units supply column and held non essential items of clothing. They were issued to all ranks. I was t...

Need Identification
If anyone can help me identify the following pictures, then that would be a great help. http://image57.webshots.com/457/6/25/15/2610625150096466526XCXIZv_fs.jpg In this one I just don't know what unit or what these men are from. Their obviously some sort of foreign volunteer unit, since they have re...

We're sharing the burden, make no mistake. Though a few of us in the group are retired and have large pensions. I myself am on the poor end of the stick.Crazy Feldgendarme wrote:Hope you have a millionaire in the group then mate cos this is gonna cost heavy.

I'm curious to know if anyone can point out a person or persons that is selling any and all tanks and vehicles. A website link would be welcome.
My unit is looking to get a few kubelwagens, and a real nice addition would be to find a Panzer.
