I would have thought the simple logical thing to do would have been to chose a unit that fought in Africa as part of the DAK, that fits the climate and terrain to a reasonable degree. Although I know of course there is a lot of difference between north and south Africa. You do a Heer unit like maybe...

RO:HOS seems to be coming along nicely despite a lot of minor discrepancies in uniforms/equipment ect. But to expect perfection would be a little unrealistic of us. I can see why the first photos can be perceived as 'bad taste'. However I personally agree with Peiper, maybe this is more a re-enactment vs fancy dress argument?
