Well done lads, did a course from the anti a number of years ago, loved the experience but not the ground rush and fast landings!at the time Peter Gross in Texel was chief round chute packmaster, arrived in Holland uninvited in 1940 i believe but ended up living there..told us some great stories. ho...

Nice to see Waffen SS and FJ infantry storming into the attack with mortars,light vehicles and Aufklarungsgruppe meyer providing the armoured element on RTE TV tonight..good work lads.

awarded retrospectively in the thirties/forties i am told before the commemorative medal was struck and issued. So not worn during the revolutionary period.sin sin as they say, "well thats that then".

I met Gerhard at Beltring a few years ago, had a a great conversation with him, signed a book on the FJ too!came away with a great impression of the man, enduring the heat of high summer in uniform and kit and patiently and cheerfully taking time to talk parachuting. What a man.
