Re: 3 Cheers for Brit re-enactors.
Appreciate what you are saying but for very little cost you can install comms in these vehicles an old army clansman harness set up with head sets would mean the commander and driver would be able to communicate ,I must say I am surprised they don't already have this as minimum Believe me I do under...

Re: 3 Cheers for Brit re-enactors.
Ok Darkattitude as you state the battles are a bit of fun or should I say fun to do , though we endeavour to make them as realistic as limitations will allow with scenarios and scripting and some sort of realistic movement of troops in the field my observation was simply why is it that whenever I ha...

Re: Awards and Decorations When transferring
More to the point what does it matter ,we dont get paid for it ,the vast majority of real WW2 soldiers didnt have rank or awards and you can still enjoy your hobby as a none ranker as much as a NCO or Officer impression too much emphasis put on all of this stuff ,its about friends and fun, history a...

Re: 3 Cheers for Brit re-enactors.
yes long overdue to see an exclusively Brit verses Axis battle but have to say it was a breath of fresh air not perfect but more realistic than most of the American reenactors tend to be I know the Brits lack armour but even when the American reenactors who have armour do deploy they do it in a whol...

Re: ha ha ha really?????
To be honest although much of it is total BOLL##KS the real point is that at a railway event you need a different approach as to how you depict Axis troops, you get a different sort of punter at these events from your full on WW2 land rovers and green stuff in a field type of gig more tact is needed...

Re: can a spud gun be made to fire blanks?
Better than that KK is a tightly rolled news paper and some gaffer tape ,a small hammer or even a stone, and an old nail . simply insert blank round in one end and strike base of round with nail using hammer or stone ,the beauty of these blank firers is they take pretty much all types of ammo accordi...

Re: Serious Question - What is the purpose of Reenactment?
To be fair Hoff that sounds like a perfect way to enjoy and share your interest with others, wish I could have joined you (work does get in the way) but others would find it quite dull, the problem is not every one has the same view on what reenactment is all about ,for some its just an escape for t...

Re: Serious Question - What is the purpose of Reenactment?
OK .....What actually is the reason for Re-enacting? well reenatment goes back to Roman times and maybe before when battles were recreated in arenas for public consumption and entertainment and one would presume profit ......What purpose does it/should it serve? well a vehicle for those who partake ...

Re: Children and re-enactment?
Why not just go civilian look? even the very German back satchel school children look ? you could always put an appropriate tinny (pin badge for some event like the olympics)to clarify the German war time period and even an old bottle of Fanta if you can get them, plenty of scope still
