Re: MG 42 / MG53
Do you live in an MG friendly state? About 6 or 7 of the 50 states do not allow private ownership of MGs. Both the MG 42 and the M53 are available on the US MG market. The M 53 will be a bit less expensive, but much harder to find. I hope you have lots of $$$ because an MG 42 will run in the $25,000...

Re: Italian camo
There was one (1) company in FJR1 that was authorized Flieger Bluses made out of Italian cammo, but I have a photo of a Fallschirmjäger friend being awarded the tank destruction stripe at Casino and he is wearing an Italian camo 4 pocket tunik.

Re: M-1945 German Stahlhelm
Isn't that a Mod 44 - no vent holes? I thought the 45 was what is known today as the east German helmet. These had been approved and were being made at the end of the war. No evidence that any were ever issued. The ruskies found a large quanity of them in ware houses at the end of the war. They had ...

Re: How did you "earn" your wound badge?
Our organization requires treatment by a Dr to wear the black Wound Badge. However if you were awarded a Purple Heart on active duty you can wear a silver Wound Badge. So I wear a silver. Goes good with my Fallschirmjäger badge u. Lw Ground Combat badge/25 (we permit a nr'd badge, as aplicable, for ...

Christian, you have no idea of the circumstances or for what reason that photograph was taken and posted, so your comments are "way off-base" (an American idiom"). Well then WHY didn't you enlighten us as to "the circumstances or for what reason that photograph was taken and pos...

Re: you call yourself fallschirmjager ?
I do not require a jump for the badge because it is the distinctive Identifying item on the uniform. I award the Kreta sleve ribbon to those who have made at least one jump - no one else wears it. I do not require my unit (FJR1) members to jump, but do conduct jump training and a jump about once a y...

I've got several Km badges, but no cased ones, and a few other items to go with them.
The clock is a brass framed/cased one so must have come off of a ship? It keeps as good time as any clock in the house, IF I remember to wind it every 8 days.
