This is the website I use:- http://www.smwholesaleusa.com/

Was about to order a smock but this kind of feedback puts me off, he does himself no favours....

Re: Luftwaffe Supplies

I got a pair of the new collar tabs - they compare very well indeed to my original collar tabs. Highly recommended!

Re: Who makes a good M44 Uniform - ATF? Hiki Shop?

Richard Underwood is going to be doing M44's soon according to his website. Might be worth waiting to see how they turn out?

Re: Show off your reenactment helmets!

"Is it me or does the decal look crooked/off centre on this one? Peiper" If you look at original helmets, you'll see lots of crooked/ off centre decals. Here is a link to a newsreel showing German helmets being produced, about 3'30" in a girl is hand applying a decal:- http://www.yout...

Re: New smw dot 44

Hi, in my experience of SMW I order one size up for the tunics as I have found they come a little tight. The trousers seem about right though.

Re: Trusted Traders/Companies

I've recently had good dealings with Richard Underwood - love his Fliegerbluses (I don't think they're as good as Janke ones but they look OK and the price is affordable unlike Janke!). He had some insignia put on for me (NCO tress etc), it was very well done. Also love his Luftwaffe Schiffen caps a...

SM Wholsale E-Bay shop?

Hi,
the SM Wholesale E-Bay shop has closed (i.e no items for sale). Does anyone know if this is just temporary (i.e Steve working on a film etc) or something more ominous?

Cheers, Paul

Re: Bevo SS insignia

I wouldn't recommend what you're suggesting, in the end I don't think you'll ever be pleased with it.... I just had some sewing work done by Richard Underwood, really great work and a very reasonable cost too I thought. I'd recommend him, but you might have to wait a little while as I think he might...

Re: Leibermuster

Hi, I'm pretty sure I've seen other pics on the Wehrmacht Awards Forum (unpublished from private collections), possibly in the Czech Republic - in a column of POW's I think. Not as many pics from 1945, than say 44 due to the chaos of the time - I wonder if it was worn in the last few weeks more than...

Re: Rochus Misch L.A.H. RIP

Thanks for posting this. I understand that an English language version of this memoirs is due out this October - that should prove to be a very interesting book. If anybody has any memories/ anecdotes relating to meeting Rochus I for one would be grateful to hear them. He did a great service for his...

Re: dull luftwaffe paint for helmets

Hi Peter, this may not be exactly what you want but Jacob Caputo ( http://www.alexanderandsonsrestorations.com/ ) mixes his own paint for his helmet restorations (I don't know if he sells it - you'd have to ask him, or get him to paint your helmet!). I think his colours are very good and quite matt ...

Re: My Field Division Pionier Impression

Hi, looks great - love the LW Field Divisions! On a constructive note I think that the helmet should have a Luftwaffe decal on the left side for 1942 (phased out from Aug 43, then a few non-decal blue-grey helmets were produced during late 43 before non-decal field-grey helmets became the norm espec...

Re: SMWholesale bad experience

Hi, just to add to this I have just bought three helmet covers from SMW via E-Bay - paid for on the 28th Jan. On the plus side they custom made one for that was not offered on their E-bay shop at no extra cost (Oak A type 1/ no loops) - and I got them today! On the negative side I received a note th...

Re: Looking for SMW pea dot panzer uniform

Hi, be careful on the size of the jacket - I am a 42" chest and so ordered that size a couple of years ago but it was too tight. I ended up with a 46" (long story) which was actually a fine comfortable fit. I later ordered an M44 jacket from SMW and went for one size up (44") - glad I...
