Re: Show us you!

Nice...
But you should get rid of the west german mess kit - and the post war canteen straps...
Originals are not that hard to find.

Re: SS M42 Blurred Edge Smock

Why do you need a helmet cover in exactly the same camo pattern? It would be much more authentic to use a cover in a different pattern - oak, plane tree...

Re: SS M42 Blurred Edge Smock

I'd really like to see some photos of Gavins smock, especially the autumn side! If anyone could show a picture or two, I'd be more than happy. As already mentioned the ZIB smock is the same product - you can find detailed pics in this link: http://www.zib-militaria.de/epages/61431412.sf/de_DE/?Obje...

Re: SS M42 Blurred Edge Smock

You can get exactly the same smock at ZIB:

Shipment should be faster and cheaper than from Asia...

Re: Drillichanzug tunic

Panther's Drillich is top notch! I can also recommend the drillich uniforms from Pirschen/Antz - they are of comparable quality as Panther, but hard to get hold of today. If you want it cheaper - the new generation Drillich from Sturm is not bad at all... Do not buy Hiki or the other cheap Asian stu...

Re: Where has Gavin gone?

Got this answer from him on 27.03.15:

"Hello
Sorry , I think we could solve the problem within a few days
Thanks
Gavin"

Hope all is OK - I am waiting for some trousers...

Re: Show us you!

Here is my impression of a fallshirmjäger from the 15th regiment near la Haye du Puits in 1944. Guy from a mortar group with specific tragegestell and ra35 optik box and optic. He has his G41W with him. Regards from France  http://nsa33.casimages.com/img/2015/03/14/mini_150314055201746315.jpg...

Re: Removing Paint From my Buttons

If you want your repro jacket to look authentic the first step should not be to remove paint from the buttons - but to remove the buttons from the jacket and replace them by original buttons...

Gavin's M44 is not bad - but you have to rework the button closure at the sleeve ends.

Re: Janke M44 Tunic

Thanks for the pics! It is exactly the same jacket-type I had in my hands at WBK Kassel at Mr. Janke's stand some years ago. What I absolutely dislike is the wool fabric - has nothing to do with real late war fieldgrey 44 wool. And the ugly red-brown artificial silk lining as in many Asia repro blou...

Re: Janke M44 Tunic

One difference to originals is, that the sewing from the corner of the pocket to the armhole is missing. Apart from that I think its close to the original. This is not a mistake. M44 tunics were simplified in many aspects - one of them is the lack of the chest darts you find in former field blouses...
