Re: Press-stoff
A yellow presstoff shovel carrier is not of the extreme sort.
Please note that Presstoff only came in yellow and black. The on 1944militaria offered "brown" presstoff is incorrect.

Re: Richard Underwood boots
A couple more rounds of steel wool vinegar dye would do. These where originally undied when issued. Soldiers themselves had to polish them to black. A soldier wouldn't complain for getting good quality boots. These are well made and are the same quality as the legendary polish made low boots. Come o...

Battle for Nederweert
Thanks to our Kriegsberichter Roland Rawe Holland, September 1944. The small village of Nederweert is one of the strongpoints of the hastily improvised German line of defence. The 116. Panzer Division occupy Weert, Nederweert and the surrounding areas. Reformed, re-equipped and reinforced with new r...

Re: Richard Underwood boots
A couple of guys in our unit (including me) had problems with the boots, non stitched soles. I believe these are now solved but be cautious.

Re: Repro MG42 Gunners pouch advice
I've used up a "gucci" cardboard repro presstoff pouch. Now I use a sturm version that I've spray painted yellow ( taping off all the leather straps and metal parts! ). And I must say, it's a good look. If you want to invest in a gucci, but wearable and durable pouch get a yellow Presstoff...

Re: quality of "the-history-bunker-ltd" items - leather jack
Not cut in wrap style but the 'U Boot' type leather uniform. Would be worn over the standard wool uniform (up to the wearer how or when he wore it, if indeed he was issued a set) said to be extra protection in those few seconds before a tank erupts after being hit. With a layer of wool and leather ...

Re: watertight gas can?
Well, since gasmask canisters are stamped prior to painting it should either have paint in the stamp or be rusty.. Next to that stamping in the lid would need the can to come apart, first. Gasmask canisters are stamped at the factory. A lot of mg34's where made up to the end of the war since lots of...

Re: watertight gas can?
The D cans are general issue to every army branch, from the start in '42 just like the enameled cans are postwar issue.
The KM masks are different and have a microphone attachment.
