I've never seen any pictures of Kriegsmarine Coastal Artillery troops wearing Heer pattern HBT or tropical tunics. No worries - paint stripper should sort you our fairly easily with the pink primer, it is worth putting the effort in as, like you say, you don't want pink scratches..!
