Im interested as well. Many units do not want the water decals, and I personally don't love them at all. I use the French ones, but they are hardly cheap, though very very good. I would love to know if yours is about as good, or even nicer, better!
thanks for taking this project on,!

Re: Krankentrager pouches
Medics were first German soldiers, and thus were armed as a matter of course. I have photos and have seen photos of medics (red cross arm banded men) even carrying K98s. They were to use the weapon to defend self, and patients.

Please keep posting. I'm not a GJ reenactor, more a luftwaffe type, but I love the photos.

Luftwaffe sleeve subdued rank?
I have read that the Luftwaffe Gefreiter and higher sleeve rank was changed in 1942 from silver to a subdued copper/brown lace. I never have seen any for sale on original militaria sites, don't think I have seen any on reenactors arms, and so, I am embarrassed to say, I can't find any info on it. Di...

IMA Folding Shovel- opinions needed!
I have two original German folding shovels, but they are starting to show their age. I don't trust IMA's ad copy very much, but I would like to have a shovel that is 1. correct, 2,strong enough to dig with, move fire pit logs around, in general do shovel like things, 3. and yet not worry that if I b...

face blackening
I have noticed over the years that many German Heer, FJ reenactors blacken their faces prior to tactical events. I know that Germans were aware, perhaps more than the US, how much a face stands out. Their 1942 era helmet nets ahve a face drape built in, the SS had face masks, there is at least one F...

Re: FJ collar tabs, color, source
Thanks for the help. I know Christan is a member here, and I have ordered some tabs from him. I have ATF and Janke/Bill Bureau also. while I have not seen Luftwaffe supplies, I suspect and believe that they will be good. So All the ones I have have an orange cast to the yellow. Yet, I would just lik...

FJ collar tabs, color, source
I am looking for a good, most typically coloured collar tabs for a FJ. I have read they were orange hued yellow. (as opposed to the more bright yellow sometimes seen). I am sure there was a range of colour found, but I have never seen even one original tab, and colour monitors being what they are, I...

Re: Show us you!
I would strongly urge you to look at lots of FJs with nets on their helmets- I have never seen any photos to my memory, that have the clips like yours on them. I know too, many vendors sell these and say they are good for the war time period. I also see guys in the unit I am with wearing them. But t...

Re: Greetings from Norway.
I always find the handle hitting my legs with the curve fitting into my hip. Was there a regulation way to carry it? For some reason I thought that the handle was supposed to be out, and not it towards the leg. I know the folding shovel was made so that the handle was away from the wearers leg.

Re: Must be genuine, it's got a stamp.
It looks exactly like one of my many postwar Russian raincoats, which were also tents, and blankets, etc. I doubt many things were marked DAK, and I seriously doubt a Soviet army Plash would be sent to Africa with those markings.

early green smock material
First, I have to confess, I have never seen a close up original FJ step in type two smock. I have never heard that they are anything other than a smock whose material is a mix of green and yellowish threads. This smock is on German ebay, and is a converted to type three from a type 2. This is a clos...
