I think one of the major appeals of FB is the ease of uploading images. Look at the reenactment groups there, and it is pictures pictures pictures - which, with FB, is dead simple to add. If the forum format could fix that, I think it would have a chance. But if you make me struggle through ten hoop...

...and this was the first weekend of spring. By the time December and January rolls on, we have night temperatures of 25~30C and daytime peaks of 35~40C. It gives a very unique window into what the Afrika Korps and other hot-climate units had to go through during the war.

7C during the night, 30C by midday. Regardless of whether you had full wool (our Hauptfeldwebel) or stripped-down HBT (everyone else), you suffered. We also went through 3x full jerry cans of water in the space of 24h - roughly 60 liters between 6 guys.

Minor suggestion: lose your webbing immediately after capture. Most of the POW photos I have seen, the Germans are without webbing (which makes sense from a risk perspective, as you can have a knife or pistol hidden anywhere in those); I'm sure there are also with-webbing POW photos, but I daresay t...

We chose Balkans because of the climate match with South Africa - 10 months out of 12, it is too hot to wear wool here! We also have the hills and scrub to match, so... fingers crossed!
