your unit - a showcase for the static site

Hi all

This was an idea given to me by Neil ("Walther") from GDrecon, and I think it has legs!

If any group would like to give me a page (or less) of promotional copy about their group I'll put it on the front page. I'll randomise it as well so that only one group gets a showcase, but it will be a different group with each page view. If you see what I mean.

So, a couple of pics, at least one paragraph of who what when why, and I'll give it some splash. If you supply more than one paragraph I'll put the overflow on a separate page which would be even better for you.

Either post it and attach images on here, or send it to alex(at)panzergrenadier.net ... when I have a few I'll set it up.

Good idea
A smaller version of this can already be seen in action here
http://www.afra.org.uk/
Right hand side of the page............. works quite well.

Due to my anti virus software etc i cant get to see the advertisement banners on each section of this website nor the groups on the right handside of AFRA website. But if i used the kids PC ( which is the same as mine) without the anti virus software i can view the said items

do you see the ad banners at the top of the page? EG for zeugmeister or for epic militaria? (on this page it says sponsored by kgk). I'd be very interested to work out how an adstopper would be able to filter that out.

Anyway, the 'showcase' is something completely different and will be an integral part of the site, so will not be affected by your software.

I'm seeing the same - well not seeing the 'missing' items. nothing to do with my AV software, but because of ad-blocker addon in Firefox.

If I switch to I.E. I see the adverts and the groups in the right hand side.

you'll see on the homepage http://www.panzergrenadier.net/ a new "featured group" box. This is open to ANY re-enactment group ... all you have to do is write some stuff about yourselves.

The featured group panel will be rotated randomly to give all groups who send me some promotional copy and pics equal billing. At the moment we have only one, but it would be good to have some more, and good for your group too!
