On bahalf of Battlegroup south / Kampfgruppe Sud we are pleased to finally be able to show everyone our new gas firing weapons , we recently took possession of 2 MG42 gasfirers and 3 Mortar tubes and got our 2cm Flak converted to gas firing complete with mussel flash . All the work was done by none other than the Waffen meister john White on Northern Ireland and John and his crew came south and spent the entie weekdn with us doing our Falschirmjaeger photoand video shoot for our new section of 12 german paratroopers
Thanks so much to john for his help and advice and great work onthe weapons especially the Flak , great weekend had by all and a great cahnce for us to repay John and his lads for the hospitality odf Downpatrick railway event in Northern Ireland recently
enjoy the videos all .

Good stuff but a 20mm Flak makes a helluva BOOM! We know - Dom's was on 50cal and that was loud enough!!!! Look to getting a bigger expansion chamber lads........ beef up that bang on the 20mm.

And your FJ offizier? Is he shouting "40" or "ready"? He shouts Viertzig (but pronounces it Bayerische- " feertzisch") I truly think he means Fertig....

Good clips - definitely shows off the gear.....

"The 20-mm Flak 30, for example, can be put into action in about half a minute, and in extreme emergencies all light flak guns can be fired (although with a limited traverse) from their mounts."

I have to say I've seen footage of Flak used in the light mobile role against ground targets and I've spoken to a FJ veteran who operated one in this manner in Normandy.

Dominic also used to operate his on wheels...... and in SPR (go on groan) the one they used to clear the Tiger was used in the support role mentioned in the article...... Wheeled into position and fired with men holding the Sonderanhanger down.

Hi von Papen , it was also a pleasure for us to be invited up to yer show , thanks for a great time and hope we get to work together again soon.Glad to see you liked our new footage , the Flak 38 is fantastic , we just need to do a few small jobs and tidy up a few pieces. Then you will not be able to spot the difference from the real thing .Any time you guys want to use it you know where we are.

On behalf of the FJ truppe thanks for the comments guys.
This was out first official photo shoot and nice to get such a positive turn out - 12 out of 14 possibles...not bad - although we'd liike to see a full turn out next time!
The gas firers make such a difference and really add to the atmosphere!
Can only be positive for next year and the public events.

Excellent footage and pics guys - most impressive. I dont think the small hand held camera does the sound any justice - I was with JW when we tested this in Cam Forest and it rocks. Justin many thanks for the mg34 mount - a lovely piece of kit - you're a top man. Will get down for a spin in the that kubel soon! We're all looking forward to meeting up with BGS again sometime soon!

Danke
Lochner

Hi lads
Can I just thank everyone most sincerely for the absolutely fantastic weekend and generous hospitality extended towards me and my team by all the guys in in BGS. It was a long haul round trip of 600 mile but worth every bit of it! We all look forward to meeting up with you again soon in the not too distant future.

My plans are coming along very very nicely for the Nebelwerfer and we'll be wheeling that out for the joint show in early 2008! The design of the pyrotechnics for the nebel will give us back blast, muzzle flash and screaming 'mimi' sound effect - early experiments are very promising
