What colour where the issued german blankets,used in the field.I have read that they ranged from light grey to white.Would white blankets be in the field or just the barracks.Also is there a specific way to roll them for attatching to the rucksack.Thanks

Hi Soldat
Blankets issued were usually grey as far as i know, going from ref books, white ones were usually for hospital use
and have the DRK stampings judging from the ones i have seen, the blanket was usually rolled up and attatched to
the fur tornister with straps, i haven't seen it being attatched to the rucksack in the same manner, it appears they
were folded up and carried inside the normal canvas rucksack??, maybe the experts can elaborate on this
