Re: Museum of the battle of Crete and the national resistance
Great place to visit. Thanks for sharing.
I went to Crete a few years ago. I decided not to go to the obvious Maleme or Heraklion but try Retimo. Ended up in a hotel at Rethymnon (Retimo) on 'Hill A' of all places! Couldn't have wished for better location. The olive factory was knocked down years ago but a bit of exploring and chatting to locals found a few interesting things.

Re: Museum of the battle of Crete and the national resistance
There's lots of great places in Crete, unfortunately a lot of museums are kept in households and aren't advertised so the tourists can't get to see them. Most of the invasion stuff got carted off to Athens over the years(I heard through local word of mouth).
Crete is a wonderful place to visit, as is Cyprus, both lands are rightly proud of their heritage.
