Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
Very nice replica torn radio, would love to get one of those
I picked this up off ebay (see below), i believe it is a US aircraft type, am toying with the
idea of converting it or maybe leave it as it is as a "captured" version ?

Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
Would there have been a "phone" attachment for this torn funker?
I know there is the "feind hört mit" microphone, but I'm curious to know if there was anything else used.
Thanks for the links!

Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
you can order plastic model here http://www.shapeways.com/shops/reenaction
you will need to independently hold together all the details, I think its not a problem for you.

Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
I am going to be starting the conversion of a R-105 to a Torn Fu.g next month. What went into making the correct shoulder straps? Obviously it would me much easier to put d-ring hooks on it.
Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
you can find scheme for straps in one on pictures in my doc file http://yadi.sk/d/7e4F4izM6ELap
Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
Thank you, I downloaded your paper drawings for the paper model, but didn't see this.

Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
Can someone post a picture of how they assembled their microphones? I bought one of the molded microphones from Japan and I have no clue how to even come close to assembling it. If someone could be so kind as to post a few pics, I'd be grateful.
Also, Which is the best model radio to install in these?

Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
Does anyone have a picture of the FuG antenna? I know what the two variants look like, but I need to know what they look like when worn on the back of a soldier in combat...
Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
Any one have pictures of the whip antenna being used?
Re: Our Torn FuG replica.
Here are the pictures of the inner parts of mine Feind Hort Mit microphone.
The wire that we used has 6 smaller wires in it. 3 pieces aren't used yet.
Also a hole is drilled from the 'button' area to the micro-phone area for the wires.
The headphones used is a original WW2 German one, without the inner parts. The speakers are replace with ones from a modern headphones (2-3euro).
All is connected to a Puxing 777, which operates between 400 and 470Mhz with 5 watts.
