Defending a Heavy Water Plant
Defending a Heavy Water Plant
This coming weekend sees a contingent of Deutches Truppen being stationed in a real wartime underground complex and attempting to prevent Norwegian Resistance and British Commandos attacking and destroying the Reich's Duterium Oxide plant at the Norsk Hydro.......
We also have to protect the scientists and engineers and be on guard against spies, saboteurs and double agents......
Operation Freshman is a recreation of the 2nd of 3 raids mounted by the SOE and Comb Ops at Rjukan near Telemark in 1942.
An in depth, scripted first person exercise will be held on Sunday 28 Feb and comprises around 50 personnel - not all of them toting guns... In an attempt to understand the difficulties of penetrating a high security facility and carrying out set objectives (as well as enjoying a weekend out with mates) PBI has organised this event at the UCAP tunnel complex near Portsmouth.
As someone well known is fond of saying - Full Report to Follow

Re: Defending a Heavy Water Plant
FYI, the site is a WWII bunker system built in 1943 (I think) for use by the Royal Navy. Very atmospheric, claustrophobic in places, and utterly pitch black in places. Oh, and like all good bunkers, it's said to be haunted!

You don't wanna drop me off in Southampton - I know people in Southampton - and Fareham - I'd never get to the HydroSteiner wrote:Drop PD off in Southampton, and he can Ruckmarsch to the venue!
